Mahin (70) woont alleen in Teheran sinds haar man is overleden en haar dochter naar Europa is vertrokken. Na weer een middag thee te hebben gedronken met haar vriendinnen, besluit ze haar eenzame routine te doorbreken en nieuw leven in haar liefdesleven te blazen. In haar zoektocht naar een vrijgezelle man keert ze terug naar plekken uit haar verleden en mijmert ze over de gelukkige jaren die ze in vrijheid heeft doorgebracht. Mahin hangt rond in in het park waar ze dapper een jonge vrouw te hulp schiet die in conflict is met de zedenpolitie vanwege een incorrect gedragen hoofddoek, in een chique koffieshop van het hotel, en uiteindelijk in een bescheiden restaurant waar voedselbonnen voor gepensioneerden worden ingewisseld. Daar ontmoet ze Faramarz, een bescheiden en vriendelijke alleenstaande man van haar leeftijd. Hij is taxichauffeur en veteraan en heeft net als Mahin een onafhankelijke geest: hij kreeg problemen met de autoriteiten omdat hij een muziekinstrument bespeelde in een bruiloftsband.
